Apple Releases Public Beta for OS X El Capitan and iOS 9

Previously available for only developers, Apple just released a public beta of OS X 10.11 El Capitan, as well as iOS 9. If you’re interested in trying out the betas, visit Apple’s Beta Software Program page. After signing up with your Apple ID, you’ll be able to register your devices and download the software for them immediately. Simply follow the instructions on the page.

iOS 9 Beta

iOS 9 brings a ton of new features and performance enhancements, including a brand new News app, smarter search with Siri, overhauled iPad multitasking and much more.

OS X El Capitan Beta

OS X El Capitan brings enhanced mission control, split view, improvements to Maps and Safari, and a lot of under the hood performance enhancements.

Beta software is unfinished, so you may encounter bugs and certain apps may be unstable. As always, it is recommended you avoid installing beta software on your primary device or a device that is vital to your business.


Apple will release the final versions of both El Capitan and iOS9 this fall.
