What Makes the iPhone Camera So Powerful?

When it comes to the iSight camera of the iPhone, we may be talking about THE most sophisticated camera system ever invented for a cell phone. Through years of hard work form a devoted team of Apple's strongest employees and tons of experiment and research, the famous iPhone camera was born. In recent months, it has even been debated if the use of professional standardized cameras are even necessary in many cases since mobile cameras, such as the iPhone's iSight camera, have become so powerful.

The powerhouse behind the most-used Apple product is what Apple experts are calling the, "Micro Suspension System." The suspension unit is made of 4 wires 1/4 the width of a single strand of human hair, which holds the camera in place so that it may balance out between the slightest shake of the human hand.

Developers selected some of their 800-person camera team to devote time to tweak the camera's accuracy in any shade of light or darkness throughout the day as well as recognize any color accurately. This team was able to meet Apple's standards and came out with the 200-part module that all work together in perfect synchrony. It's hard to imagine that something so tiny could be so complicated. 60 Minutes stated in their "Anatomy of the iPhone" feature that 24 billion operations occur per picture.

All of this power is due to the invention of the A9 processor, which completes these tasks in mere nanoseconds. Due in part to the powerful iSight Camera, Apple has seen a huge demand in artistic apps as well as photo editing tools in the past few years.
