How to Manage your iPhone Notifications

Taking control of your notifications is highly beneficial on your phone. With your Apple device, we can find notifications overwhelming. We understand. We are here to provide you with tips to control and maintain your important notifications. With the latest iOS update, you have even more opportunities to manage your notifications and the settings within your device. Now, let's jump into ways you can have more control.

There are plenty of ways to control your notifications on your Apple phone. Head on over to your Settings app and click on notifications. You can manage all your notifications in your settings. Find a list of your apps and click on each to turn on or off your notifications, or it gives you the option to make more detailed changes to the app's notifications.

For each app that has notifications enabled, three alerts can be enabled or disabled: Lock Screen, Notification Center, and Banners. These are notifications to show over the top of whatever app you use. For example, if there's an app you don't quite want to hear from, you can turn off the Banners option. If Banners are enabled, the settings below let you pick between Temporary and Persistent. Within your notifications center, you can turn on and off noises and vibrations for each app, and it helps you set up silent alerts for some of your apps.

You have more ways to keep your iPhone from sending notifications when you don't want it to. And can change this by going into your Settings, Do Not Disturb, where you can switch it to turn on and off manually. But you can also turn on Schedule and turn on and off notifications automatically during certain times of the day. You then can turn on or off Allow Calls From, which will let incoming calls from contacts listed as favorites show up and ring when the phone's in Do Not Disturb mode. But with this off, notifications won't show; they'll still appear in the Notification Center and appear as badges on your app icons.

Turning off each of your notifications may become tedious. But, it's worth taking the time to turn off some of the notifications your iPhone sends you, limiting when it sends them, and modifying them to something much more sustainable.
