Apple’s September 9 event featured many great new products, such as the iPad Pro, iPhone 6s, the new Apple TV and new updates to the Apple Watch line. Such updates include new bands, a gold Apple Watch Sport and more information regarding watchOS 2.

New Apple Watch Colors

The Apple Watch Sport line received two new colors: Gold and Rose Gold. The two new colors for the Apple Watch Sport are available in both sizes - 38mm for $349 and 42mm for $399. Several new watch bands have been added to the Sport Band line up. Apple also announced a new line of the Apple Watch named Apple Watch Hermès. watchOS 2

The Apple Watch runs watchOS and starting on September 16, 2015, users will be able to upgrade their software to watchOS 2. The new software has many new features but one big one is the ability for apps to run natively on the Apple Watch without having to run from the iPhone it is paired with. Apps that run natively on the Apple Watch will be able to access hardware such as the speaker and microphone.

Other features included in watchOS 2 include custom watch faces that can be set from the user’s photos. Even the ability to set a time lapse on the watch face has been added into watchOS 2.

iOS 9 will also launch to the public on September 16th.
