Any live music fan knows that tracking down shows can be a tough challenge. Between different artists, different venues, festivals and more - it’s nice having one spot to keep track of all your live music needs. The Songkick app is that spot.

Scanning Your Music Library

The first thing Songkick wants to do after installing on your phone is get a feel for the music you love. The app presents you with a list of artists that you can like. Liking an artist triggers the app to show you upcoming shows for similar artists. Songkick takes it one step further by offering music library scanning services. Songkick can scan your device’s local music library as well as Spotify and Rdio playlists to get a complete view of the artists you listen to.

Concerts in Your Area

After scanning your music library and selecting the artists you like, the Recommended section of the app presents you with upcoming concerts in your area.You can click on any concert that interests you to get more information about it. The concert preview page gives you access to a ton of information, such as ticket prices, location, map information and more.

You can click the Track event button within any concert preview to add it to your tracked concerts list. This list is easily accessible from the Concerts menu of the app.

Songkick Notifications

One of my favorite aspects of Songkick is its notifications. Based on the artists you like, Songkick will send your device a notification whenever a similar artist or group announces an upcoming show in your area. The Notifications section of the app allows you to easily go in and track recently announced shows.

All-in-all, Songkick is an amazingly simple and focused app that is a must have for any live music lover or someone looking to attend more shows and concerts. With the ability to track shows, purchase tickets in-app and get up to date information, Songkick should be the only app in your arsenal for finding concerts around you.
