Setting Up SONOS Just Got Easier

For those who don't know, we proudly carry Sonos here at CityMac. In addition to providing a high-quality wireless audio experience, the Sonos system is well-known for its simple setup process. On September 2nd, Sonos released a major update that makes setting up your system easier than ever. Before this update, the Sonos network required one speaker or a Sonos BRIDGE to be plugged in via ethernet to your home router. Now, you can set up Sonos over your existing WiFi network - wirelessly.

The SONOS Wireless HiFi System

Let's Take a Step Back: What is Sonos?

Sonos is a system of HiFi wireless speakers and audio components. It unites your digital music collection in one app that you control from any device. Sonos allows you to play what you want in every room over a dedicated wireless network. Sonos wireless speakers are custom designed for every space in your home. From the compact PLAY:1 to the TV-compatible PLAYBAR, the Sonos line-up fills any room with crystal clear HiFi sound at any volume. The Sonos Controller App lets you browse and play your music from any device. Use your smartphone, tablet, or computer to stream different songs in each room, group rooms together, or hear the same beat everywhere. Listen to all the music you love, no matter where it lives – think iTunes, podcasts, radio stations, Spotify, Pandora, etc. With streaming music services, use your smartphone, tablet, or computer to control apps from the cloud.
