App Review: Tiny Wings
Sometimes it is good to take a nice break and have fun playing a game on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. A game that has been trending in the Top Charts for quite some time now is Tiny Wings.
Objective in Tiny Wings
In Tiny Wings, when you first start playing, you will notice that there is a finger on the screen that will help show you when to press down. This really helped me understand how to play the game the first time I played it. The whole idea is to press down to build up speed when going down a hill. Once you release your finger at the bottom of the hill/starting to go up a hill, your bird then can fly across the hills. The photo below shows the bird flying above the hills.
As great as flying is, you don’t want to be flying the whole time. That is because there are coins on the ground that you want your bird to be able to pick up as well. You can see your score in the bottom left hand corner. To the left of your score you can also see how much daylight you have left during the game. Daylight is important in this game. When night falls the game is done, and you will be hoping that you improved your score over the previous time and picked up some coins along the way.
Overall Design
The designers of Tiny Wings have done a great job at creating it to be visually compelling. The user interface is fun and enjoyable – which a game should be. For me, I always seem more likely to download a game if the graphics look fun and entertaining.
Requirements
Tiny Wings will work on any newer iOS device. At the time of this article being written, Tiny Wings only needs at least iOS 4.3 and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Which means that if you are running a newer device, there won’t be a problem with it being compatible with the device you have.
